Gilbert
Coming from a military family, Elly had to move a lot growing up. She was born in British Columbia, but mostly raised in Quebec, hence the accent.
At the age of 19, Elly started tree planting, which drew her to BC and forced her to learn English.
It’s only when she moved to Revelstoke in 2014, that Elly started attending yoga classes occasionally. In October 2015, she participated in the Yoga challenge at Balu. She didn’t miss a single day, and only wanted more afterwards. So, she took her yoga mat to Nelson, where she did a 200 hour YTT in the Spring of 2016 under the lead of Mama Joy at Shanti studio.
In the fall of 2017, Elly was given the opportunity to begin teaching at Balu. Even though she felt pretty new to the yoga scene, and still stumble with her words in her second language, she eagerly accepted. She loves a challenge and sharing her passion for yoga with others.
For Elly, time on her mat, is time for self exploration, an active meditation, allowing herself to try new things and to feel subtle sensations that accompany it. This is what she intend to share with you.
