An Experiential & Accredited Foundation of Yoga

Deepen your practice through an immersive 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Noelle Bovon and Lisa Cyr who collectively have 45+ years experience. This training explores the power of ancient traditional practices and wisdom, applied to the modern world.

This training is not simply about learning to teach yoga — it is an initiation into deeper awareness. While this program fully prepares those who wish to teach, it is equally designed for anyone who feels called to deepen their personal practice.

For those who feel the quiet call to explore the inner realms, to understand the subtle body, to sit in the mystery of breath and presence — this container is for you. Whether or not you ever lead a class, you are welcome here.

Together we move beyond shapes and sequencing into the living practice of yoga: awareness woven through movement, breath as a bridge between worlds, philosophy as a mirror for the soul. We explore yoga as sacred intelligence, the body as teacher, and consciousness as something we participate in — not something we control.

This training is for the seeker.
For the one who knows there is more beneath the surface.
For the one ready to soften old identities and inhabit their practice as a way of being.

You may leave with the skills to teach —
but more importantly, you will leave with a deeper relationship to yourself.

Rooted in experiential wisdom, this training bridges modern science with ancient yogic traditions. Students will explore yoga through the lenses of anatomy, biomechanics, pedagogy, philosophy, mythology and ethics, while also being invited into the more subtle dimensions of practice — breath, energy, awareness, and self-inquiry.

This training honours the mystical roots of yoga – the inner listening, the relationship with breath as a teacher, and the quiet intelligence that unfolds when practice becomes embodied rather than performed. Students are invited to explore not just how to teach, but how to be in practice: attuned, responsive, and connected.

Throughout the training, emphasis is placed on developing a safe, inclusive, and effective teaching methodology. At the same time, students are encouraged to cultivate presence, intuition, and an authentic relationship to the practice — recognizing that teaching yoga is not only a technical skill, but a relational and energetic exchange.

This 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training is an immersive, Yoga Alliance–certified program that meets international teaching standards while honoring yoga as a living, embodied, and transformative practice. It is suitable for dedicated practitioners seeking to deepen their understanding of yoga, as well as those intending to teach with clarity, confidence, and integrity.

Curriculum areas include:

  • Techniques, Training, and Practice: asana, pranayama, meditation, mantra, and subtle body awareness

  • Teaching Methodology: sequencing, cueing, class planning, voice, presence, and classroom skills

  • Anatomy and Physiology: functional anatomy, biomechanics, and injury prevention

  • Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle, and Ethics: foundational texts, ethical principles, and yogic frameworks for living

  • Practicum: practice teaching, feedback, observation, and integration

While grounded in clear structure and educational standards, this training also honors the mystical roots of yoga — the inner listening, the relationship with breath as teacher, and the quiet intelligence that unfolds when practice becomes embodied rather than performed. Students are invited to explore not just how to teach, but how to be in practice: attuned, responsive, and connected.

This training is for those who are interested in deepening their understanding and practice of yoga. Some may choose to follow the path of a teacher, while others may want this training as a deepening of practice & personal study.

Graduates of this program will meet the requirements to register as a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) with Yoga Alliance. More importantly, they will leave with a strong foundation in both the science and spirit of yoga — equipped to teach responsibly, practice sustainably, and continue walking the path with curiosity and devotion.

TEACHERS

Lisa Cyr:

Lisa is a passionate yoga teacher who discovered the transformative power of yoga in 2004 while rehabilitating a spinal injury and rebuilding core strength. Beyond the physical aspect of asana, she was captivated by breathwork, sound, and mantra. As her practice deepened over the years, Lisa realized that yoga offers profound connections with oneself and others, serving as a gateway for exploration, self-discovery, playfulness, and personal growth.

Since 2011, Lisa has been sharing her love for yoga as a teacher. On the mat, she infuses classes with adventure, curiosity, and a seamless integration of invigorating asana, breathwork, sound, and self-exploration. Her sound offerings are an invitation for people to actively participate in the experience of sound through toning, vocal meditations and soundscapes, and more.

Originally from Calgary, Lisa has spent many years living and traveling in various countries across the globe, immersing herself in different cultures. Currently residing in Revelstoke with her daughter, she teaches weekly classes at Balu Yoga. Lisa’s training includes 200-hour programs with Gayatri Yoga, and Meghan Currie; as well has completed 300-hour programs with Gayatri Yoga, and Danielle Pechie (Critical Alignment and Yoga Therapy). Noelle Bovon:

Noelle has been teaching yoga since 2009, co-founder, CEO & Teacher Balu Yoga & Wellness in Revelstoke, BC since 2010.

Noelle Bovon is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS).

My yoga practice developed in 2002 along the Owyhee River in Idaho, where I was training to be a river instructor. I went on to lead river expeditions from the Yukon to New Mexico for many years. However, my biggest adventures grew from exploring my yoga practice, I went into deep caverness parts of myself, evolved and found incredible self-growth through the teachings.

Since that time, I’ve completed two 200hr Teacher Trainings and a 300hr Teacher Training. I’ve trained in Hatha, Iyengar, Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Anatomy, Yoga Nidra, Meditation, Tranta Yoga, Numa Breathwork, and Prana Flow. My most prolific teachers include; Karuna Ericson, Paul Erickson, Ally Bogard, Shiva Rea, Trevor Yelich, Eoin Finn, Celeste Needham, Tanis Fishman & Josh Schrie – among others.

I weave in the mystical, mythical, and subtle realms in practice and teachings. My classes are full of life, soul & the endless inspirations that this wild human experience provides.

FAQ’s

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to want to become a yoga teacher to join?

No. While this training fully prepares you to teach, many students join to deepen their personal practice and understanding of yoga. This program is for anyone who feels called to explore yoga beyond the surface — physically, philosophically, and energetically.

Do I need to be advanced or very flexible?

Not at all. You do not need advanced poses to participate. This training focuses on understanding alignment, breath, nervous system awareness, and embodiment — not performance. A consistent practice and a willingness to learn are far more important than flexibility.

How much yoga experience is required?

We recommend at least 12 months of regular practice, but what matters most is your commitment and readiness to immerse yourself in the process.

What style of yoga will be taught?

The training draws from Hatha, Iyengar, Tantra, Anusara and alignment-based traditions while integrating breathwork, meditation, philosophy, nervous system education, and somatic awareness. This is a holistic and integrative approach that supports both personal transformation and skillful teaching.

Is this training Yoga Alliance certified?

Yes — this training is certified through the yoga alliance.

What if I have injuries or health concerns?

We work with bodies, not against them. Please share any injuries or health considerations in your application so we can support you appropriately. Modifications and intelligent progressions are part of our teaching philosophy.

How much time outside of training weekends is required?

If your choosing the teaching path – In addition to contact hours, students can expect reading, reflection, practice teaching, and home study. Plan for approximately 20 hours per between scheduled immersion weeks.

Will I be ready to teach after graduation?

Yes — if you choose that path. You will graduate with the foundational skills to sequence classes, cue effectively, understand anatomy, and hold space responsibly. Confidence grows through practice, and we support you in building that foundation.

What makes this training different?

This program is rooted in community, consciousness, and lived practice. We don’t just teach you how to instruct poses — we explore the nervous system, philosophy as lived inquiry, and the art of holding space with integrity. This training will develop relationality with the animate world, ancerstors and a devotional aspect to invoke your relationship with the divine. It is both practical and transformational.

What is the investment and are payment plans available?

$2500 paid by course start date OR $990 paid in 3 seperate installments, completed payments by the start of the final week.
Yes, payment plans are available. We want the training to be accessible while honoring its depth and value.

What if I’m unsure?

That’s completely natural. You are welcome to reach out to schedule a conversation. This is an important decision — and we are happy to help you feel clarity before committing.
