Yuri was raised In Japan, she met yoga in Bali in 2014 when she was travelling the world, prior to this she was had spent two years working for a major financial company in Tokyo after university.
This stressful work experience guided her into a new stage of her life, following her heart and doing what she loves, snowboarding in winter and enjoying beach life in summer. Initially on her yoga journey Yuri used yoga to help heal and strengthen her body.
In 2017 her journey evolved into one more based on meditation and spirituality. She completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training in Vikasa Yoga on Ko Samui. Immediately after she completed another 300 hours of teacher training at Vikasa Yoga and began to teach in Niseko. Twice in the last two years Yuri has done ten days silent meditation in Kyoto and often travels to India in summer to do Hatha and Ashtanga based yoga practices.
Yuri believes yoga is preparation for us to be in a deep state of meditation, especially when our mind is busy, yoga will help calm our minds, coming back to our heart and soul. Her next step will be studying qi-gong and tai-chi. Her teaching will help you to breathe, listening to your heart, body and soul.
