A prairie girl at heart, Kenley was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. As a dancer and athlete, she was kept busy and active living a go go go lifestyle. In 2002 she fell in love with yoga, practicing every morning and every night with a VHS box set in the quiet basement of her parents’ house. As a young 14-year-old girl it was the only thing that let her mind be quiet and body be still. Since then, Kenley has always found time in her life for yoga, finding it to be the perfect complement to dancing and the life she chooses.
Kenley completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2014 through Semperviva Yoga College in Vancouver, and since has received over 200 more hours of training including Children’s Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, specializations in hands on adjustments and more. Through the years she has taken workshops and been influenced by master teachers such as Max Strom, Janet Stone, Gloria Latham and Judith Hansen Lasater.
Kenley’s classes range in energy from calm and mindful to fun and playful. She loves to connect with her students in a genuine and honest way, offering an ear to listen and guidance if asked. For Kenley, building an understanding in the importance of community, self-love and mindfulness is a special opportunity that she does not take lightly; she works hard to ensure that her students develop skills to bring these practices into their daily lives. By incorporating a strong practice with moments of silence and stillness she hopes to create a space where students feel safe and comfortable to truly be in the present moment.
