Melanie is a recent graduate from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria, BC and is excited to be joining the team of teachers at Balu!
Melanie fell in love with yoga at a young age after experiencing the calming effects it had on her. Giving her an opportunity to slow down, she has been a dedicated student/practitioner for many years.
As an avid snowboarder, she enjoys practising yoga to maintain a balance between charging and recharging. She also uses the yoga practise to manage her own injuries, and believes it is a beneficial practise to aid in the rehabilitation process.
Melanie completed her 200hr yoga teacher training in 2017, in Byron Bay, Australia, where she was trained in Hatha yoga with refinements in asana, vinyasa, meditation, pranayama, mantra and embodiment.
Her training ignited a curiosity and determination to learn more about the body. Therefore, soon after, Melanie enrolled in massage school where she was able to gain extensive knowledge in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and injury management.
Melanie aims to offer classes that are slow and steady, grounding and empowering.
She looks forward to meeting you and having the honour to guide your practise!
