Kyra
Williams

Growing up in Kamloops B.C., a deserty landscape with sage-covered hills, I have always seen the natural world as my playground. In the winter, you can find me floating around the snow-dusted mountains on skies. In the summer, scrambling up rocky mountainsides, trekking through alpine flowers, or taking in the fresh air on the blustery Pacific coastline. While this outward experience fosters a shining sense of gratitude and curiosity for the world around me, it is through the practice of yoga that I discovered my desire to explore inwardly.
My journey with yoga began when I received a cancer diagnosis at the age of 21. For years I had been living very much outside myself. Yoga became my way to ground, manifest gratitude, and find acceptance in all the uncertainty of my diagnosis and now in everyday life.
In 2020, one year after receiving my cancer-free status, I completed my 200hr YTT at Fernwood Yoga Den in Victoria, B.C.
Yoga helped guide me through nearly every emotion in the book, and to share that guidance with others has been a gift.
Kyra’s classes work to encourage the practice of slowing down, mindfulness, and showing kindness and compassion for one’s self. She is a strong advocate for inclusivity and accessibility on and off the mat.
