With a background in anthropology and environmental studies, Claire came to yoga to find stillness and strength in her work and travels.  Claire found ashtanga yoga while taking a permaculture and natural building practicum in rural Argentina.  Since then, she has studied yoga, zen and Buddhist meditation at retreats in South America and California.  Claire enjoys weaving her practice into daily activities and appreciates the health and healing that comes with mindfulness in movement.

Under the guidance of Birgit Reimer, Claire completed her yoga teacher training in Palo Alto, California in 2011.  While her focus during this time was Iyengar yoga, Claire has been inspired by ashtanga, yin, and restorative practices as well.  Claire loves being a part of Revelstoke’s yoga community and continuing to learn through teaching. In her classes, she aspires to bring the mind, body and heart together in meditative movement, that hopefully sneaks some serenity into our lives outside the studio
