The Yoga Of Authentic Presence

Oct 20-22, 2017

The Yoga of Authentic Presence with Lila Rasa Brown
OCT 20-22, 2017
Breath, bio-mechanical alignment, and skillful action are ever the focus for honing the craft of asana — yet these tools are also awesome techniques for creating greater awareness of the force of aliveness that is in all things. Each practice will include intelligent sequencing, enlivening instruction, and trustworthy approaches that give yoga practitioners the opportunity to taste what in Yoga is considered their innermost nature.
Friday evening:: Ground and Open
Oct 20 6:00-8:00pm
This fluid yet slower-paced vinyasa-style practice will be a yoga journey that integrates inner and outer worlds, blending heartfulness with breath and conscious movement.

Saturday morning:: Revel and Embrace
Oct 21 10:00-12:00pm
This practice will combine conscious movement, action, and breath to create a natural connection with the infinite presence available in every moment. Fundamental standing postures, hip and heart openers, inversions, and twisting poses will create a colorful tapestry of steady yet light-hearted yoga exploration.

Saturday afternoon:: Restore and Revitalize
Oct 21 2:00-4:00pm
This inwardly-focused practice will be regenerative to the body and nervous system, the emotions and mind, as well as to the spirit. A dynamic blend of asana with longer holds, including deep hip-openers and forward folds, invites a deep connection within.
Sunday morning:: Honor and Celebrate
Oct 22 10:00-12:00pm
This playful and upbeat practice will synthesize all genres of yoga posture, from standing to seated, inverted to hand-balancing. A reverent bhava (mood) will set the tone for the transformative experience that is Yoga on this soulful Sunday!

Bio::
A yoga teacher for over 15 years, Lila is dedicated to the experience of Yoga — a union with all of Life — and to sharing this with the amazing practitioners she continues to meet on her journey. One of her great joys is to guide practitioners into a space of true transformation, encouraging them to discover honor, and gracefully reveal their most authentic nature through the practices of yoga, evolutionary astrology, meditation, and their overall approach to life. Lila’s teaching incorporates skillful alignment and action in the body with yogic myths, philosophy, the astrological lens, and direct experience to create a rich, profound, and soulful experience both on and off the mat. Lila currently offers yoga classes, workshops, and teacher trainings, and retreats, and feels grateful to continue her studies with her primary teacher Adyashanti. Her passion for practicing evolutionary astrology has been a perfect complement to the yoga practice, and she loves creating a space of magic and healing where her clients feel supported to transform in the most radical of ways. Lila was a Certified Anusara Yoga Teacher from 2005-2012, and she owned and managed Gateway Yoga, an Anusara studio in North Carolina, from 2006 to 2011. She was on faculty at the American Dance Festival from 2008-2012 before making her move to Canada in 2013.
